Blog Submission & Publication Guidelines

1. Who Can Submit?

LegalDarshana welcomes original articles from law students, recent graduates, young lawyers and aspiring legal researchers who wish to contribute to meaningful legal discourse.

You do not need prior publication experience. We encourage fresh perspectives, independent analysis and well-researched legal writing.

2. What Can You Write About?

Submissions may cover, but are not limited to:

- Constitutional & Administrative Law
- Criminal Law & Criminal Justice
- Civil & Commercial Law
- Human Rights & Social Justice
- Technology, AI & Law
- Gender & Law
- Legal Developments & Current Affairs
- Landmark Judgments
- Legal Education & Careers
- Emerging and Contemporary Legal Issues

Articles should have a clear legal focus and should aim to provide analysis rather than merely describe an issue.

3. Word Limit

Articles should preferably be 1,200–1,500 words, including endnotes and the author's bio.

Submissions substantially outside this range may be returned for revision.

4. Originality & Plagiarism

All submissions must be original and unpublished work.

- The article must not have been previously published on another website, blog, journal or platform.
- Plagiarised or substantially copied submissions will be rejected.
- Proper attribution must be given wherever another person's ideas, arguments, data or words are relied upon.
- Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality and authenticity of their submissions.
- A co-authorship upto 2 members is allowed.

LegalDarshana reserves the right to reject an article on grounds of plagiarism or inadequate originality.

5. Formatting & Citations

Authors are requested to follow these basic formatting requirements:

- Font: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 12
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Text should be properly structured with relevant headings and sub-headings.
- Legal authorities, cases, statutes, articles and other sources should be appropriately cited.
- Endnotes should be used for citations rather than footnotes.
- Citations should be consistent throughout the article.

Authors may use a recognised legal citation style, preferably Bluebook, OSCOLA, etc. unless otherwise specified.

6. What Should Your Submission Include?

Every submission should contain the following:

A. Title of the Article
A clear and relevant title.

B. Main Article
The article should be between 1,200–1,500 words, including endnotes and author biography.

C. Endnotes
All sources relied upon should be properly cited through endnotes.

D. About the Author
A short author biography of approximately 20-30 words.

7. How to Submit?

Please send your article in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format to:

The email should contain:

1. Title of the article
2. Name of the author
3. Institution and course/year
4. Contact details
5. Author biography
6. Article as an attached Word document

8. Review & Approval Process

Every submission will undergo an editorial review before publication.

Submission → Editorial Review → Feedback/Revisions (if required) → Final Approval → Publication

The editorial team will assess submissions based on:

- Originality
- Legal accuracy
- Quality of research
- Depth of analysis
- Clarity and structure
- Relevance to contemporary legal discourse
- Compliance with submission guidelines

The editorial team may suggest minor edits or revisions before publication.

9. Timeline

LegalDarshana aims to communicate the decision on a submission within 7 days of receipt.

The possible outcomes are:

✓ Accepted for Publication
The article is approved and scheduled for publication.

↻ Revision Required
The author will be asked to make specific changes before final approval.

✕ Not Accepted
The article does not meet the editorial requirements for publication.

The 7-day period refers to the initial editorial decision. The final publication date may vary depending on revisions and the publication schedule.

10. Editorial Rights

LegalDarshana reserves the right to:

- Edit submissions for grammar, clarity, formatting and style.
- Request revisions where necessary.
- Reject submissions that do not meet editorial standards.
- Make reasonable editorial changes without altering the author's substantive argument.
- Decide the publication date and placement of an accepted article.

Any substantive changes affecting the author's argument or position will be discussed with the author wherever appropriate.
